Questions and boundaries

Frequently asked questions

What the validation platform records, who it is for, and what its evidence language does not claim.

The product

What is an Equipment Passport?

It is a durable record of one piece of equipment: the base and fitted parts, how each detail was established, what remains unknown, and the history that should travel with the equipment. It is not a certificate or inspection.

Why not store only the manufacturer and model?

Complex mobility equipment is configured and changed over time. Two chairs with the same power base can carry different controllers, seating, software, batteries, and accessories. Those differences can change which documents or safety notices are relevant.

Does Numov use AI to decide what a part is?

The validation product does not treat a photo match as an established identity. Staff record what they can observe and may select a sourced catalog match; uncertainty remains visible until evidence supports the claim.

Organizations and pilots

Who is the first workflow designed for?

Assistive-technology reuse programs, loan closets, refurbishment organizations, and similar teams that receive equipment with incomplete records and need a colleague to continue the work later.

What would a pilot measure?

A pilot should use real incoming equipment and measure intake time, identification blockers, handoff quality, and whether staff actually use the record. NUMOV should earn expansion through observable operational value, not a polished demonstration alone.

Does every staff member need technical credentials?

No. Organization staff can record custody, descriptions, workflow, and evidence. Technical review is a separate, permissioned act so the person entering a claim does not automatically validate it.

Evidence and safety

What does ‘reviewed’ mean?

It means an authorized reviewer agreed with the basis for a specific recorded claim. It does not say the equipment is safe, functional, clinically appropriate, or ready for use.

How are safety notices handled?

A notice is evaluated against the details recorded for one asset. If the controller, software, serial range, or other deciding detail is missing, the result remains unresolved instead of defaulting to reassurance.

Does Numov provide repair or clinical advice?

No. The current validation product is an equipment-record and evidence tool. It does not provide wiring instructions, programming guidance, cross-manufacturer substitution advice, safety clearance, or clinical seating recommendations.
