How NUMOV Fits
Keep the operational system. Add the equipment intelligence.
NUMOV is not positioned as a replacement for state reporting, warehouse inventory, HME billing, lending, service, distribution, or clinical documentation. It gives those systems a linked record for the equipment and the parts fitted to it.
The Division of Responsibility
The existing platform continues to answer where the equipment is, who holds it, how it was funded, and where it is moving. NUMOV answers what has been recorded as installed, why the record says so, which source supports it, and which technical details remain unresolved. The same structure can be used for wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, beds, bathing equipment, walkers, and other assistive devices while coverage is built category by category.
Three Readers, One Linked Record
Technical reference
An authorized technical reader can scan the QR code, confirm the recorded identity and fitted parts, and open manufacturer-published references associated with those recorded components. NUMOV does not diagnose a fault.
Documentation and review
A program leader can see the source, recorder, date, review state, and unresolved fields behind each technical claim. This supports an audit trail; it is not insurance, certification, or liability protection.
System linkage
A state, nonprofit, provider, repair organization, or equipment program can keep its current platform and store the NUMOV Passport URL beside its existing asset identifier. A general-purpose integration API remains future work.
